Facebook has made everyone lazy….

Today is my birthday (YAY me *groan*).

This year I decided to run an experiment and turn off my birthday (I was going to run it last year) on Facebook too see what happened. Guess what nothing happened just as I expected.

Facebook has made everyone so lazy that the birthday platitudes that come along once a year are meaningless.

So here I am enjoying a big stiff drink.

Til next time…

I should be in the middle of packing right now…

If this year had of gone to plan I would have been in the middle of packing right now so I could been in the car the crack of dawn tomorrow for my birthday week off.  Unfortunately it was not to be.

The universe conspired against me it isn’t anyones fault except my own. Unfortunately my internal sense of duty & obligation overpowers my ability to be selfish and put myself first.

If was able to ignore that sense of duty & obligation I would have said fuck work and let the chips fall where they may and let the world burn.

I am not salty at not having the time off I’m salty at what it represented. For many years I had threatened to take time off at the end of the financial for my birthday and for the previous three years I had and this year that time was going to be an even longer stretch.  It represented me putting myself first and me trying to make my birthday feel special in my own way.

Hopefully I can get my birthday tradition back on track for next year.

Til next time

Family sucks when they think about money…..

I copped a series of Facebook messages and I have to get it off my chest.

I have two brothers & one sister. The order of birth is Me, Sister, DBag Brother, Brother.

DBag Brother is a drug addict, criminal & mentally unstable with barely a year 8 education and he has two kids(yes I know – *shakes head*). He has it in his head since mum died he is due for a pay day.

Prior to Mum getting remarried yes there was a will but that became null and avoid at the moment of marriage.

He has no idea about the law which state if a person dies without a will and there is a spouse & kids involved it is to be broken up in the following manner:

Section 14 of the Administration Act 1903 contains a table which specifies who, of your family and dependants, receives your estate when you die and what percentage they receive.  For example:

  • If a person dies leaving a spouse, the spouse will receive all the household chattels;
  • If a person dies leaving a spouse and children but the estate is worth no more than $50,000, then the spouse gets the entire estate;
  • If a person dies leaving a spouse and children and the estate is worth more than $50,000, then the spouse will get the first $50,000 plus one third of the estate, and the children will get the remaining 2/3 of the estate (divided equally);
  • If a person dies leaving no spouse, no children, no sibling, no parents, no grandparents, no nieces or nephews, no cousins and no aunts or uncles, then the whole of the estate passes to the Crown.

I don’t think he has the remotest idea of what mum did in the last few years of her life.  She withdrew her super which terminated her life insurance so he had money to live on because Centrelink kept saying she had to look for work when all the Dr’s say she is unfit  for work. She sunk her share of Pop’s estate into the house to catch up with the mortgage.

I’ve had to resort to blocking him on Facebook due to threats and his twisted logic that somehow he is being screwed out of what is his. Should he turn up at my work I will have him arrested.

I really hope there is never a day where I am in the same room as him again because I will kill him, but hey that would be doing a good deed for the rest of humanity.

Here is the low life at work:

I’m such a naughty boy….

I forgot to post last week and which broke a long streak of posting at least on a weekly basis.  tisk tisk

Work

I managed to finish a big project which means our transition to PCH will be super smooth and we will be business as usual the moment we walk in the doors.  (YAY Me)

I had a review with a team member which was a little difficult as their comments were so negative about themselves it was a little disturbing. Hopefully over the next three months we see a marked improvement in attitude, focus and well being.

So I’m going to be doing a full departmental review from bottom up in a effort to inject more positivity and a bigger sense of ownership into the place.

Technology

I watched the Apple World Wide Developers Conference Keynote and finally got around to installing Beta 1 of iOS 11 and I must say I like it and on the iPad it is even better.

Life

Still a little miffed about not having my week down south for my birthday especially since I had such a good time down there last year.

I haven’t got around to seeing Wonder Woman yet hopefully I get to do that sometime today.

Til next time..
